WorthyKids REVIEW

We are avid readers in our home, so anytime we have a chance to review a book we jump on the chance. It was through a review we were introduced to the amazing book series, Secret of the Hidden Scrolls by WorthyKids Books. We had already been blessed with books 1-4, so when books 5 and 6 arrived we were thrilled!

For this review we received Secret of the Hidden Scrolls: The Shepherd's Stone (Book 5) and Secret of the Hidden Scrolls: The Lion's Roar (Book 6). These are physical books, and are a fantastic addition to our collection!

About the Books

Secret of the Hidden Scrolls: The Shepherd's Stone (Book 5) transports your reader back to the middle of David and Goliath's great battle. Siblings Peter and Mary are staying in Great Uncle Solomon's house. In book one they discover hidden scrolls, and the story of how those scrolls work is told there. This is where their journey's begin, but as we see in Book 5, they are only in the beginning of those journeys! This time, they find themselves in the middle of a grassy pasture with sheep, and David as the shepherd. David is the only one brave enough to take on Goliath because he has faith in God to see him through. The moral of the story (and the secret message on the scroll) here is "Fear not. God is bigger than any problem!" This was especially meaningful for Mr. B at this time because he has really been facing a lot anxiety lately. This book as really helped him face that anxiety,  knowing that no matter what God has him! This book is 14 chapters in 120 pages with a table of contents. I like how each book also references the part of the Bible the books is based on.

Secret of the Hidden Scrolls: The Lion's Roar (Book 6) finds the sibling duo journeying to the busy city of Babylon where they meet Shadrach and Daniel, and learn of new laws that actually make it a crime to worship anything or anyone other than the king! Will Daniel survive the lion's den, and will the kids solve the scroll in time?! Like Book 5, this book has 14 chapters across 120 pages.

In each book, like the previous books, the children only have a set number of days (4 days to be exact) in order to solve the clues to the scrolls or else they risk being stuck in history forever! They are barred from telling anyone who they are or where and when they are from, as well.

Our Thoughts

We love these books! We can't wait for book 7 to release soon so we can add that one to our collection as well! These are fantastically written to be page turners that teach a biblical lesson, as well. They are wonderful tools to help build and grow your child's faith in God, as well as a remarkable way to learn the Bible stories in a fun and engaging way. The characters are so relatable, and fun to read about! The books are intended for grades 1-3, and I think these are great read alouds for the younger crew, and a quick and easy read for older students. Mr. B is 14, and he loves them! Princess J is 6, and I read these to her during her reading time. Both kids love them! We highly recommend these to others!
