If more people in the world were like this:
1.) A month ago or so I pulled into the parking lot for B's neuropsych. It was windy, but not THAT windy right then. Regardless, I told B to let me open his door, so the wind wouldn't take it and whack the truck beside us. I opened my door, then turned to grab my purse and...the wind took my door and whacked the truck beside me HARD. Left a smudge, probably a dent. And yes, there was a man sitting in the truck. He could have gotten angry, and he would have been well within his rights to do so as my carelessness had been at fault. Instead he says, "Oh you're fine! don't worry about it at all. It's not like you did it on purpose!" I was so relieved. He was still there when we got out of the appointment an hour later, and still just as nice, telling me to be careful because it was sure windy out (HAHA, well played sir, well played.)
2.) Yesterday at walmart I was soooooooooo tired by the time I finally got through the store and back to my car. My stress, anxiety, and olfactory senses were maxed out, and I needed home, STAT. I put the car in reverse, carefully looked both ways, waited on some cars, looked again, and then proceeded to back into the couple walking next to me. I stop and start screaming OMG I'M SO SORRY!!!!!! They are cracking up laughing because, as it turns out, I didn't hit them, but they missed walking into my car by about an inch. Me: "I don't always hit people in the parking lot, but when I do I make sure they come in pairs for the bonus points." Other people would have been saying I hit them (when I didn't) and pitching a hissy fit. I was out to eat not long ago, and a lady had her grandkid in a high chair in the middle of the walkway where it didn't go.
A man stood up, tripped, nearly knocked the kid over but caught the chair. the lady flipped out on him! Why? It was a simple mistake that was caused by her initial actions in the first place. We are all at fault daily of things that could cause an accident like any of what I just listed above, so when something non-life changing happens just laugh it off. Life is too short to stay angry all the time. What a miserable way to live.
