Math Mammoth REVIEW!!!!!

Math is one of those subjects that is hard for me to choose a particular curriculum, or style. Mr. B likes to use the computer for his work, and I also like the benefits of worksheets or printables. It's hard to find something to fit both of our needs, that is affordable, and good quality. Insert Math Mammoth. I had never even heard of Math Mammoth before it came up for review, and after checking it out I was so very excited to try out the Light Blue Series for 5th grade.

This math curriculum is mastery based and utilizes conceptual learning. I'm sure you're probably wonder what in the world that means, right? Please say yes, because I know I was certainly wondering! Basically, your student will master each topic before moving on to the next, and units are arranged in themes of sorts. Conceptual learning isn't just learning the how's, but it addresses the logic behind the math. 2+2=4, but why? That's conceptual learning, and it's GREAT for autism!

Masterbooks Elementary Zoology REVIEW

How We Used This:
We chose to follow the schedule in the Parent Lesson Planner for this course. The lessons are short in duration, but they pack in a lot of fun information. The activities do not take a huge amount of time, so it was easy to work it in every other day. In addition to our daily work, we took a trip to the zoo and aquarium as icing on the cake!

Zondervan Under the Sea NIrV Children's Bible

I'm excited to bring you this review and Giveaway for Zondervan's Under the Sea Holy Bible, NIrV translation, for kids. This Bible is very colorful, featuring a sparkly hardback cover, color graphics, and slightly thicker pages for easy turning. Written in the NIrV translation, this Bible is easy enough for a 3rd grade reading level. For this review we received 1 Bible, and 1 to giveaway!

My Thoughts
One can easily research the differences with the NIV Bible and the KJV Bible, so I will not bother with that here. The NIrV is a simplified version of the NIV. We are strict KJV users. As a result, I would allow Mr. B to read this for fun to polish up on Bible stories, but not for Bible studying. For that, he will keep his traditional KJV Bible. I would love to see Zondervan start producing products such as this, and their Builder's Bible, in a KJV translation so that all may enjoy it.
